REKS

REKS

REKS is a stalwart of the underground rap scene. He is from Lawrence, Massachusetts, and has been active in the industry since 1999. His journey began with his debut underground album, Along Came The Chosen, released on Brick Records in 2001. Since then, he has released eight additional albums and made appearances on various albums and mixtapes, marking his territory in the world of music.

In his early career, REKS was a breakdancer, a part of a local B-boy crew called Funk Town Connection. His love for music and rhythm was evident even then. As he entered college at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, he had already built a reputation for himself in the local Boston rap scene. Eventually, he quit school to begin recording for Brick Records. His debut LP, Along Came the Chosen, was released later that year, earning him nominations for Hip-Hop Album and Artist of the Year by the Boston Music Awards.

REKS has collaborated with some of the biggest names in the industry, including DJ Premier, Styles P, and Hi-Tek. His 2011 album Rhythmatic Eternal King Supreme is a testament to these collaborations. In 2016, he released the critically acclaimed album The Greatest X.
