The Cool Kids
The Cool Kids, a legendary Chicago duo, is composed of rappers Sir Michael Rocks and Chuck Inglish. The duo’s vibrant music has garnered them significant attention and collaborations with artists such as Freddie Gibbs, Mac Miller, and The Neptunes, among many others.
The duo’s journey began when Rocks and Inglish first connected in 2005 over a beat Inglish had produced. Inspired by golden age hip-hop and artists like LL Cool J and Eric B. & Rakim, they began creating music together. Their initial releases were solely on their MySpace page, but their talent soon caught the attention of the larger music industry, leading to headlining performances and critical acclaim.
Their debut album, When Fish Ride Bicycles, was released in 2011, featuring production by The Neptunes and guest appearances by artists like Bun B, Chip Tha Ripper, and Ghostface Killah. The duo has also been featured in video games and TV series and continue to release excellent music, such as their 2022 triple album Before Shit Got Weird.
